The Journey - Chandigarh to Kotdwar

I stay with my family in Chandigarh...so we boarded the bus that starts at 9:20 PM to Kotdwar (our main town..gateway to some of the main districts in Uttarakhand).

Kotdwar Bus Stand

We reached Kotdwar at 4:30 AM. Since it way May, when most of the people go back home due to summer vacations & other reasons like we had..we booked a taxi in advance so that we don't have to run around at the last moment.

The taxi owner happened to be one of my distant cousin...and was already waiting for us at the bus stand..very punctual indeed.

Since we reached Kotdwar early morning, there were hardly any residents around except the taxi drivers who lined up to catch as many passengers as they could. But when you arrive here during day time...its a total CHAOS.

Reaching Satpuli

Satpuli is the stopover town (about 50 km from Kotdwar) in our journey to my village.

It is situated on the banks of Nayar river.

The Purpose

I was going to my village after about 13 years..a long time...the reason - the "Pujai" ceremony that happens every 12 years.

After such a long gap, I was dying to see my village.

Welcome to Kainterkhola

This is my village (gaon) situated in Pauri Garhwal District of Uttarakhand. The nearest big market is Sanglakoti.

The village has only 17 members who live in peace and harmony. Miss the serenity, love & attachment!! Anyways... enjoy the scenenic beauty surrounding my village...!!
